Narrative

McDuffie Co., GA – A 53-year-old man died Thursday after a two-vehicle crash involving a semi along the interstate in central McDuffie County.

The incident occurred at 12:19 p.m. on I-20 near mile marker 173. This is just north of Thomson.

Police say that a driver sustained fatal injuries when his vehicle rear-ended an 18-wheeler on the interstate. The driver died after transport to a local hospital.

Authorities identified the victim as Mark Delafchell.

It’s not yet clear what caused the accident. A full investigation is underway.
