Narrative
RABUN COUNTY, GA – A driver fell asleep at the steering wheel of his pickup truck, leading him to crash into a utility pole, resulting in one getting taken to the hospital Tuesday. The crash took place at the intersection of Georgia 197 and Shoreline Trail. The force of this crash caused the driver – identified as 44-year-old Matthew Wood from Tiger, Georgia – to hit a Windstream employee and power unit before striking the pole. The worker seemed to be unharmed, as the person was not taken to a hospital. However, the passenger with Wood – 27-year-old Marquell Juan Manning of Franklin, North Carolina – was airlifted to a hospital for his injuries. Wood will be charged for failing to maintain a lane.
