Narrative
ATLANTA, GA – One person died, and several others were hurt Friday in a multi-vehicle collision along the interstate in northwest Atlanta.
The accident happened just after 1:30 p.m. on I-75 southbound near Howell Mill Road, which is just east of Underwood Hills Park in the Channing Valley area.
Police say that seven vehicles collided in a chain-reaction crash caused by a stalled vehicle.
A passenger in one of the seven vehicles sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet disclosed their identity.
Medics transported six additional people to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Officials closed the interstate in the area of the crash while crews gathered evidence, helped the victims, and worked to clear the scene.
