Narrative
ATLANTA, GA – A 24-year-old woman died Sunday in a wrong-way collision along the T. Harvey Mathis Parkway in Atlanta.
The accident happened shortly after 5 a.m. on the northbound side of GA-400 near Lenox Road. This is just west of Phipps Plaza on the north side of the city.
Police say the collision involved a Kia Sorrento and a Toyota Rav4. It’s not yet clear which vehicle entered the wrong side of the expressway to cause the accident.
The driver of the Kia died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released her name to the public.
Medics transported the driver of the Toyota to an area hospital with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
