Narrative
BARTOW CO., GA – Three people died, and two people sustained injuries earlier this month in a multi-vehicle collision along the interstate in northwest Bartow County.
The fatal accident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, May 13th, along I-75 near mile marker 308, which is just north of Adairsville and about 65 miles northwest of Atlanta.
Police say that a Hyundai Sonata and an 18-wheeler collided along the northbound side of the interstate, causing the semi to travel onto the southbound side of I-75. At this point, the semi crashed into two southbound passenger vehicles and two additional 18-wheelers.
Authorities identified two of the three victims as William West, 50, and Christopher Powell, 23. The third victim has not been identified.
Medics transported two additional people to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
A full investigation is underway.
