Narrative

PUTNAM CO., GA – Three people died Thursday in a major crash involving a semi-truck and a pickup along the highway south of Eatonton.

The incident occurred shortly before 10 a.m. on the southbound side of Highway 441 at Twin Bridges Road Southwest. This is just west of Rooty Creek Church.

Police say that a southbound Ram pickup truck hauling a trailer and carrying three people rear-ended a stopped 18-wheeler at the intersection. Evidence indicates that the pickup truck did not show signs up slowing down before the collision happened.

All three people in the pickup truck died at the scene of the wreck. Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims to the public.

The driver of the semi did not sustain injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
