MACON, GA – A 48-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries and died after she hit a Honda Civic in Macon Saturday, 13 WMAZ reported.
The collision occurred at Shurling Drive and Treadway Drive around 4 pm. For reasons unknown, the 48-year-old woman, who traveled in a VolvoS60, crossed the centerline and collided with a Honda Civic.
Both women were hospitalized at Atrium Health.
The driver of a Honda Civic, a 30-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries but is expected to survive. However, the 48-year-old woman, later identified as Misty Rethemeyer, died from her injuries and was pronounced dead.
